Roles & Responsibilities for HSSE Training Process

Leadership – Commercial & Technical

  • Define BU Specific Training Matrix (by job types) using the HSSE Generic Training Matrix template
  • Communicate organization changes and employee movement
  • Assure training compliance throughout Department/Workarea
  • Review/Modify BU Specific Training Matrix annually

Supervisors (front-line leaders)

  • Define job specific HSSE training requirements for staff
  • Assure completion of staff HSSE training plans

Employees – Commercial & Technical

  • Via conversation with supervisor, agree on VTA “myPlan”, including the HSSE training requirements assigned.
  • Using VTA, complete the HSSE training plan assigned (via “myPlan”)
  • Verify VTA training history is correct/complete (via “myHistory”)

HSSE Group

  • Interpret regulations (external and BP)
  • Recommend HSSE Training (via Generic Training Matrix)
  • Site-wide HSSE assurance
  • HSSE training consulting and maintenance of web resources

Training Group

  • Contact BU to define HSSE training requirements for new or transferred employee
  • Contact new/transferred employee regarding VTA training requirements and VTA Learner access
  • Maintain/revise employee training plans per BU instructions
  • Provide access to courseware to meet training requirements
  • Provide status reports of training compliance to BU leadership
  • Assist BU leadership with obtaining training status reports
